My name is Dan Pelson. I’m the CEO and Founder of uPlayMe, the first desktop social networking application that connects people with each other automatically, based on the music and videos they consume. I've started a few other companies in the past including Bolt.com, the first teen-focused social network. Bolt.com was the first media property I launched as the founder of Concrete Media, one of the earliest online interactive marketing agencies. At Concrete Media, I also transformed a Web site called “Girls on Film” into “Girls on Network,” prior to selling it to Geraldine Laybourne’s Oxygen Media. And in 1994, I created Word.com, one of the original ad-supported ‘zines. Recently, I ran Warner Music Group's Direct to Consumer efforts. I hold a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Colgate University, and a master’s degree from NYU’s Stern School of Business. I live in New York City with my wife Jenny, sons Zachary and Tyler, and dog China. And if you're still reading this, you must be really bored. Go outside and get some fresh air or a latte or something...
